Around mid-September Moon Viewing

Autumn seasons represent the perfect time for Viewing the moon.The beautiful moon is called "chushu no Meigetsu". It occurs under the solar calendar this full moon occurs between September 7th and October 8th .

During that time people set up altar in places where they can see the moon . The altars are decorated with silver grass and place offerings like dumplings and Sake . People enjoy in their homes quietly watching the shining full moon .The main attraction of the Moon is its light.

This traditional culture came from China . Through the years it was developed in its own way in Japan .Originally, watching the moon was for longing for the long life.

In this season Japanese people include eggs in some foods such as : Udon (flour , noodles ) in hot soup with raw egg called "Tsukimi"
